Hill Farm Equestrian Centre is an approved British Horse Society (BHS) Equestrian Centre, Pony Club Training Centre and has a Five Star rating from Babergh District Council.
Owned by Hazel Ackland BHSAI, this friendly, family run yard offers riding lessons for children (aged 2+) and adults from complete beginners to experienced riders in a safe and caring environment.
Children’s Pony Clubs are run on Saturdays and Wednesday evenings and include a 1 hour riding lesson and 1 hour stable management lesson. Fun and structured Pony Days and camps are held throughout the school holidays. Children are split into small ability and friendship groups and even the shyest of children join in quickly.
Riding lessons are taught by British Horse Society qualified instructors on well mannered, sensible horses and ponies. The school has approximately 15 horses and ponies available, each having its own individual strengths that give our clients a variety of personalities and challenges whilst learning to ride. The horses and ponies are regularly schooled by the instructors in order to keep them in top condition and also so that the instructor understands each horse’s personality thoroughly. This helps them to get the best out of the rider during the lessons.
Facilities include a 20×40 outdoor arena, heated class room, and 15 stables/stalls set in a 1900’s brick-built, gated yard.
So whether you are looking to take up a new hobby, take back the reins or want to develop existing skills, Hazel and the team look forward to welcoming you.
